Well it finally happened. I am extremely pissed off. Why is it almost everyday when I read the news on the computer or watch the news, I hear that a child has been beaten, molested or killed. Nine times out of ten, it is usually a parent and not a stranger, but you wouldn't know that if you watch either Headline News, Jane "War on Women"Velez Mitchell, who has a habit of thinking that if a person has a drug or alcohol problem that it is usually an excuse and that the person isn't normally like that, which I totally disagree with and Nancy Grace, who has calmed down a bit since the hubby and kids, but she still goes off most of the time.
I am not saying there isn't a problem, because there is. I am saying that people in this country need to realize that this has always happened and that the ony reason why it seems like it is worst is due to the 24 hours, 7 day a week news cycle that repeats everything over and over again. I have to keep telling people I know that it is not as dangerous now, it is the same as it has always been.
I am not an expert at all, but just this week, look at what's going on, Zahra Baker has been declared dead and scattered. Figured that one out a long time ago when the news reported that her father had a woodchipper and in New Orleans, a three year old that was shot with a gun and is dead. Story is developing.
The Kiran story, Caylee Anthony, etc. All of these children may have died at the hands of parents/family/friends. This is why I get angry when folks are quick to blame others and never think that the parents/family/friends could be capable. I am not saying that I am paranoid and believe that all people are bad, I am just saying that you have to check everybody out. This is a common mistake many in the media do, and then they act all surprise if it is someone who is known to the victim when the arrest is made. I guess I am wishing for some type of intelligence to come out of the mouths of the media, but I don't think it is every going to happen. I guess I can wish.
